Connecting your Model 3

Three minutes from account to finished log.

Model 3 already has all the data DriveLog needs. The car reports odometer, position, timestamps and route. What we add is classification and a verifiable audit trail. Sign in with your Tesla account, approve access, draw two geofence zones and drive.

1. Sign in with Tesla

Same account as the Tesla app. We never touch car controls, only read trip data.

2. Set two zones

One around home, one around the office. Add other clients over time.

3. Review weekly

Ten minutes on Sunday evening is enough to clear a whole week of trips.

Swedish Tax Agency

What Skatteverket wants from a Model 3.

For a Model 3 used as a company car or in business operations, the log must show every trip with date, time, odometer at start and stop, route start and end, purpose and driver. The requirement is the same for every car, but because Model 3 often runs long client trips, it is a good example of where paper logs fail.

DriveLog delivers every line ready. Odometer and times come from the car. Classification runs against your rules. You add purpose where needed and export PDF or CSV.

Common questions

Questions about Model 3 and mileage logs.

Does it work with my Model 3 from 2018?

Yes. Every Model 3 from 2018 onwards works, including Long Range, Performance and Highland. Both RWD and AWD.

I am a consultant and drive a lot. How much time do I save?

A typical consultant spends 8 to 12 minutes a day on a paper log. Over a year that adds up to around 40 hours. DriveLog takes ten minutes a week to review, usually on Sunday evening.

My Model 3 is leased through the company. Does that matter?

No. The Tesla account decides, not ownership or lease structure. Whoever has the car on their account logs the trips.

How is a client trip classified when it starts at home, passes a client and ends at the office?

DriveLog chains trips with stops, so home-client-office becomes three segments. You classify the middle segment as business and the others as commute. Rules handle it for you once the pattern repeats.

My Model 3 changes ownership during the year. What happens to the log?

Trips logged during your ownership remain in your account. When the car moves to a different Tesla account new trips stop appearing, but the history is locked in and exportable.
